Long time no talk Lou Boos! I’ve missed blogging, but the break was more than necessary! 😩
Turning 25 is a bit of a big deal. Some may have had a different experience, but from what I’ve read the majority of us tend to face some obstacles when it comes to transitioning to the 25-31 age bracket (YES, I said it. It’s time to move down to the second bubble in the age demographics section 😵). Idk about you, but initially this change was a MAJOR thing for me, and it managed to stress me out several months prior to my actual date of inception 😅.
For whatever reason society teaches us that we “must” be in a certain cliché space or doing a certain cliché thing by a certain age. I thought that I had to be married at 25 and carrying half a child by 27.5. Boyyyy was I wrong! Now please don’t take offense to what I’m saying. If things worked out this way for you or someone you know, I think that’s fantastic! However, for those of us that have a different story I want you to know that your walk is just as awesome! At times we get so caught up in our plans or what we feel is supposed to happen we miss the beauty, wisdom, and room for growth within our present situations. I for one will wholeheartedly admit that this was me lol smh.
I went through a very depressing time in which I began to doubt myself, my abilities, and even my passion. After a while I really just wanted to give up on my goals and plans. I knew I absolutely had to pull myself out of this downward spiral, and thanks to my Lord and Savior, family, & closest friends I was able to do so. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not perfect (I never will be), & I actually love that I’m not. I have to constantly work to encourage myself every day in order to stay out of that slump. It’s easy to fall into, but the more I work on rejecting it, the easier it’ll be to keep a positive attitude. Every experience is a lesson and every lesson is a blessing. The most exciting part about going through is being able to help my future kiddos and anyone else who may be encountering some of the same hardships as me.
On August 13, 1992 a Queen was born, and on THIS SUNDAY August 13, 2017 I will celebrate 25 years of blessings, mistakes, growth, forgiveness, and maturity. No matter how old you are, if you’re reading this I hope this can help you keep fighting, keep pushing, and keep becoming who you desire to be.
Take a look at my transformation over the past 25 years… talk about a Glo’up 😂✨
Today’s look features Pale Dogwood. This is the 4th and final color of my favorite Pantone hues for Spring 17. I wanted to give “casual-cute” vibes with this look. Everything about it is very soft, simple, & comfy! This summer sweater breathes extremely well. It’s perfect for a windy day or I’ll probably even wear it as a coverup for a night on the beach (hopefully I make it to one at some point this summer 😩). The fringe bucket bag is my second favorite piece because it’s literally the perfect size. I’m in love with the whole ensemble 💕 Check the deets below!!

Back at it again with another blog post! 💃🏾 This weekend I got the chance to celebrate loveeeeee ❤️ *cues Keyshia Cole* lol. One of my big sisters in Delta got married!! (I just LOVE, love don’t you? ☺️) The ceremony was so sweet, and the reception soon after was a blast! I definitely enjoyed myself . I received a few of compliments on this little number so I decided to go ahead & blog about it 😄. This midi dress is perfect for a spring wedding. I saw it online a few months back, & I just had to have it. Both the color and sleeves are top trends for the season. Also, I have no idea what I was talking about in these pics, but I always say candids are the best! Get the deets below…

Quick update- A few weeks ago I attended the YNOT Scholarship Foundation Fashion Show hosted by my good friend Tony Minifield. Tony is the lead photographer and creator of YNOT Images, LLC. (Be sure to go check out his website ynotimages.com) Tony and his team were able to coordinate an AMAZING show featuring tons of extremely talented designers and models. The theme of the event was Yin & Yang: The Rise of the Golden Dynasty. Spectators were encouraged to dress their best in white and black, & you guys KNOW I love any excuse to get dressed up 😁💁🏾. One of my favorite parts of the evening was meeting ANTM Cycle 9 Alum Bianca Golden ( yes, I was a slight groupie! I freaked 😭). She’s so beautiful & super sweet! The number one highlight of the event was witnessing two scholarship winners receive an award in the amount of $1,000 each!!! All-in-all the fashion show was outstanding!

Hello, hello LouBoos!
We are officially well into spring, and the Pantone series continues. In today’s post I am wearing Hazelnut and Kale (or Kale’s cousin– close enough lol!). These two top 10 colors of spring 2017 pair well together so I thought why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone? My makeshift utility top is actually my favorite anorak from the fall. I loved it so much I had to figure out a way to bring it with me moving into the warmer season. These awesome cigarette pants are from Boohoo, & they are sooooo comfy! Top it off with matching heels and you have the perfect springtime look that’s not too dressy and not too casual. Get the deets below boos!

March is here which means Spring begins in 11 days! Yayyyyy! 😁 I’m ready for pretty weather; however, I’m not so ready for the pollen 🤒🤧 (allergies suck). With the new season comes a new set of Pantone’s Top 10 Colors. This week I’m showcasing shades of Niagara with a super casual sporty chic look. This blue is GORGEOUS in just about every shade. Get the outfit details below!
P.S. Kudos to my sorority sister Jimmeka for assisting me with blog pics during her weekend trip 🤗 Thanks girllll!

So, this weekend I decided I wanted to make some of the super trendy frayed hem denim jeans. Initially I planned to buy them, but I ran across an old pair of jeans I never wear & decided to just do it myself 🙂 I used Youtuber Aya Baraqawi’s video for technique & added my own flare. This DIY was super easy to do. I will definitely do it again possibly using black denim next time. I love these jeans because of their versatility! They can be dressed up or down. I saw this t-shirt in look #1 at the thrift store & I just HAD to have it! I considered distressing & bleaching it, but I kind of feel like I need a break from that trend so I decided to leave it as is. I added the longline jacket to sort of play with dressing up t-shirts. For look #2 I decided to switch the top with a fuzzy sweater & add a super glam statement necklace. Both looks are fun & super easy to wear. Get the deets below!

Hey LouBoos! I haven’t gotten a chance to post in a while. 2017 has been fairly busy because I’m in the process of making a slew of changes. I’m super excited, & I can’t wait to share them with you guys! 🙂 Today’s look is grungy chic. I’m wearing my favorite earthtones with a pop of color. When we were shooting my best friend/ one of my favorite photographers said I look like one of the characters from the Walking Dead (hence the name of this blogpost lol). My favorite piece in this look is the utility jacket because it’s super unique and can be dressed up or down. It’s certainly one of my favorite thrift store finds. You guys will definitely be seeing it again! Check out the outfit deets below!
